Kyle Pfortmiller

Baritone



Kyle Pfortmiller was born in Elgin, Illinois and currently resides in New York City. He has employed his unique talent in opera, operetta and musical theatre from the contemporary to the classic. His repertoire includes the title roles in Don Giovanni and Il barbiere di Siviglia, as well as Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Silvio (I pagliacci), Escamillo (Carmen),Count Carl Magnus Malcolm (A Little Night Music), Billy Bigelow (Carousel), Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady), John the Butcher (Hugh the Drover), Pierre/Red Shadow (The Desert Song), and Hajj, the Poet (Kismet).

Kyle made his European debut with the De Nederlandse Opera as Silvio in I pagliacci in March 2006 to critical acclaim heralded as “a voice that could give us a father Germont and other lyric roles in the great American baritone tradition of Robert Merrill.” Mr. Pfortmiller was recently seen as Guglielmo (Cosi Fan Tutte) with New York City Opera, and as Figaro in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Sivigliawith the Lake George Opera Festival. He has appeared with companies across the United States including New York City Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Tulsa Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Sarasota Opera, Fresno Grand Opera, Lake George Opera Festival, Opera Grand Rapids and Utah Festival Opera.
