Hailing from Northfield Minnesota, Sarah Goldfeather is a Brooklyn-based violinist of classical, bluegrass, and folk music. A graduate of Vassar College with honors in music, Sarah leads an active life as a musician and teacher. She is currently a member of the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, and has been a member of The Novus Chamber Orchestra, New York Repertory Orchestra, Vassar College Orchestra (where she was co-concertmaster for 3 years), and the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra. Sarah currently studies with Alarm Will Sound violinist Courtney Orlando, and has recently studied with Betty-Jean Hagen, Barbara Gorzynska, and Yehonatan Berick. She has played in an eclectic mix of groups in New York (from chamber music to Hungarian rock bands to Children’s Theater). Sarah is also an active member of the almighty bluegrass-folk band, Great Dog Almighty, and an on-again off-again member of the illustrious Minnesota band, The Sideporch Trio. Sarah lives in Park Slope and is a violin teacher at the Brooklyn Waldorf.
